We are dedicated to serving the aerospace, semi-conductor, medical, firearm, and commercial manufacturing industries with high quality, quick turn CNC manufacturing.
With over 20 years of experience, Eric Goss, AxisWorks owner, saw the need within the industry to utilize better manufacturing techniques. AxisWorks was born in 2015 to utilize and take full advantage of these cutting-edge practices.
Utilizing Jergens ball lock modular tooling technology, Raptor dovetail fixturing, standardized tooling and with help of tool and work probe, our quality sets us apart from other machine shops in the industry.
Eric is a fifth-generation machinist; he grew up learning the trade. Eric has experience working with both manual and CNC equipment. Eric is driven, working hard to make sure that the product delivered is the beyond the expectations of the customer.
After helping other companies build and grow, Eric started AxisWorks in 2015 and his business has grown exponentially over the past six years, thanks in no small part to the investments he has made in the business. Eric quickly realized that “used” equipment couldn’t match his own expectations, which is why he has invested in high quality modern technology since the start. He has also handpicked a team that match his passion and desire for delivering excellent craftsmanship.
Eric constantly has his eye on the future; there are further expansion plans and more exciting things in the works, so stay tuned!
Tim joined AxisWorks in 2019; he has an amazing background in both CNC machining and the firearms industry, which has been his focus since 2009.
With 20+ years’ experience in manufacturing, Tim helps the team with CNC programming, lathe work, and he does all the chambering and muzzle brakes for our Firearms Division. Tim also handles general machining work for clients in the aerospace and semi-conductor fields, among others. One of the things he likes about AxisWorks, is that every day is always something a little different.
Karsten was an AxisWorks customer long before he joined the team. He has worked in the firearms industry since 2013. He was spending so much time around the shop that it seemed a natural progression for Eric to bring him on as a paid employee!
Karsten runs the Firearms Division for AxisWorks. When you call in, the chances are good that you’re going to speak with Karsten. He walks our customers through build sheets, talks them through the components, and makes sure those components are ordered and come in correctly. As the frontline Firearms guy, Karsten’s focus is on customer service, production scheduling, and quality control. The best part of this job for Karsten? “You’re going to make my day when you leave our shop with a big smile on your face and your dream rifle in your hand!”
Dale came to the AxisWorks team in the fall of 2019. Dale spent five years in the U.S. Marine Corps. After separating from the Corps, Dale decided he wanted to be a gunsmith. So, he moved from Iowa to Prescott, Arizona, and put himself through Yavapai Gunsmithing College.
When Eric reached out to Yavapai College looking for a new hire, Dale was top of their list as somebody he should speak to. It didn’t take long for Eric to decide that Dale was the man he was looking for. Dale’s day-to-day responsibilities include Cerakote, bedding, final assembly, scope mounting and day-to-day CNC machine operations.
Rick joined AxisWorks in December 2020; he has been CNC machining since the 1980s. Rick’s decades of experience in setting up machines make him Eric’s right hand man. All Eric needs to say is, “Hey Rick, here’s a program, a tool list, set the job up and figure out any tweaks it needs” and he gets the job up and running.
As you may imagine with almost 40 years in manufacturing, Rick has lots of experience in just about every kind of industry there is. Whatever you can think of, he’s made parts for! He helps out with the setups and proving out programs and, of course with production itself, as well as making sure all the documentation is in order. Rick has settled in quickly, “I’ve come to find out this is a great place with great people.”
Tim joined the AxisWorks team in early 2021. Tim is currently enrolled at ASU, studying mechanical engineering. Tim has come on board to work on the new product lines that the company is currently working on and hoping to launch in 2021. Tim is doing all kinds of modeling, programming, product engineering, and design verification, and he has quickly become a real asset to the company.
The fact that Tim is young is a real benefit; he has the computer skills to be able to model things, he can give us fresh, good ideas, and he’s got the educational background on what works and what doesn’t. Eric is really excited to be able to bring him on to help move the new product lines along much faster.
“I started having Axis Works make a bunch of parts for me a few months back. Their ability to hold tolerances part to part is phenomenal. The quality of finish is also perfect. Delivery times are always as quoted or sooner. Their customer service is also top notch. Great company to work with.”
